I don't have much detail yet, but the story will be about a girl who suffers from amnesia.
Should I
a) write from the perspective of the girl with amnesia; or
b) write from the perspective of someone she knows?
Sorry, the information is quite vague, but I don't have many ideas yet, since I'm only just starting. :)Help with writing a story?
My current story is written from the perspective of a girl with amnesia, with small - and I mean SMALL - excerpts from one other character's point of view.
If it helps, try listing the pros and cons of each.
So, if it's from the perspective of the girl:
Pros:
- offers mystery
- can make it easier to empathise with her (who knows, perhaps if it wasn't from her point of view then she could become frustrating to the main character)
-
Cons:
- might need a little research to get this right, assuming you haven't suffered from amnesia yourself
- might overcomplicate the plot (just because amnesia is such a big thing to throw into a story)
- means you have to consider things more carefully, such as:
- well she recover her memories? (and btw, does she have more trouble gaining new memories now, or is that not an issue?)
Anyway, that's just a start. Hope it helps :)

You could switch it off chapter to chapter but if you didn't want to do that i would say do the girl with amnesia.
